As a native New Yorker, I split my time between NYC and upstate NY. I spent my time raising and riding horses, and hiking along the quiet beach shores and vast woodlands in MI. My indoor time was spent sewing and designing, using cast-off upholstery textiles and leather skins from the local Herman Miller furniture factory.
I honed my craft and style working within industries including: beauty, fashion, jewelry, interior, accessory & costume design, P.R., and as a stylist for editorials, photo shoots & film.
Being a creative director in beauty markets like Temptu allowed me to take risks and experiment with creative ideas like producing the ORIGINAL temporary, "Metallix" (metallic) body art.
My publicist position at an exclusive NYC, P.R. agency segued into producing and coordinating runway shows, as well as special events for Chanel, Cynthia Rowley, HBO and editorials like W, Harpers Bazaar, Time Out, Cosmopolitan, Vogue Girl and Teen People to name a few.
As an interior designer, I re-interpreted and renovated Cedarmere - The William Cullen Bryant House Museum, as well doing interiors at other mansions on the Gold Coast of LI, NY.
After launching BINC, I embraced the role as a featured designer at the famed Henri Bendel and other exclusive pop up markets around Manhattan, including opening The Market NYC in Soho; a forerunner in a now popularly accepted trend.
The mediums I work with live in things both natural and classic. By-products like supple leathers & feathers, minerals of gemstones & metals, repurposed materials, charm & pendant antiquities, natural flower & plant oils, and vintage fabrics compiled mostly of luscious silks and intricately woven textiles.
BINC bodyBAUBLES are power pieces; luxe accessories & heirloom jewelry with versatility. I take inspiration from this body of work and my appreciation of art history, ethnology, color, textiles, fashion, couture, antiques, design, travel, architecture and music. BINC designs are also influenced by the ethos of nature and current events occurring in countries around the globe. This research, as also in life, is a continual journey... Each design is created and produced with astute attention to detail, love and healing intentions.
BINC components and artifacts are purchased almost exclusively through fair trade vendors and suppliers who liaise with them. They come from aboriginal, nomadic tribes people and refugees from countries all over the world. I combine a splice of these traditional, cultural antiquities from differing cultures with each other, as well as injecting a modern, industrial and sculptural esthetic.
I continue living out my dreams in one of the most exciting cities in the world! I'm inspired and thankful everyday.
I LOVE collaborations with influencers and beyond. I am available to design custom pieces tailored to your specific tastes, photo shoots, editorials, or television and moving picture needs.
